The Future of Flooring

When I replaced the flooring in my home recently, I was surprised to find out that one of the options available to me was a cork floor. I’d always thought of cork as nothing more than the way to top off a bottle of wine. However, it turns out that cork is a great flooring option. It has many of the benefits of hardwood, but the texture and give of the material also adds some of the benefits of carpeting. I decided to start a blog about flooring so that I could share some of the benefits of interesting and lesser-known flooring options. Don’t be fooled into thinking that you only have a few choices. There are lots of great directions you can take with your home flooring that will perfectly suit your home and your needs.

Common Reasons Your Toilet Keeps Clogging And What You Can Do About It

When you flush your toilet, you expect everything to go down. When this doesn't happen, this is a major inconvenience. If you're experiencing a clog in your toilet, you know exactly what this feels like. If this is a common problem in your home, here are just some of the reasons why you might be dealing with this issue and what you can do.

Improper Flushing

A common reason you're dealing with clogged toilets is that you're flushing the wrong things down the toilet. The only thing that should be placed in your toilet bowl is toilet paper and waste. Anything aside from these objects, and you're simply asking for trouble.

Stay clear of diapers and sanitary products. Additionally, even something as seemingly delicate as facial tissue and cotton swabs should not be flushed down the toilet. These objects don't dissolve and will instead accumulate, settle and create a blockage. Keep a waste bin near your toilet so that you won't be tempted to flush these items.

Sewer Line Problems

If you are experiencing clogs in more than one bathroom, it might not be you that is causing the problem. It could be a problem within the main sewer line that is leading to your issues. For instance, if there is a clog deep within the line, this can have a domino effect, causing clogs within any of the fixtures that are connected to the sewer line.

For this type of clog, you will need more than a plunger to correct the problem. You will instead need to hire a professional plumber to investigate the issue and remove the clog for you.

Broken Flapper

If your flapper is malfunctioning, you might also be dealing with recurrent clogging. The flapper is the component of the toilet that is responsible for allowing the water to flow out of the tank and into the towel bowl when you flush. When there is an issue with the flapper, it won't open properly.

While the toilet will still flush because there isn't a bowl full of water it won't be a complete flush. Without the full force of the water, any objects in the toilet won't properly flush, leading to a clog. You can simply replace the flapper to correct the problem.

If you can't figure out why your toilet keeps clogging, make sure you are calling on a plumber. A plumber will quickly highlight and correct the problem to return your toilet back to its proper working order. For more information, contact companies like Royal-T-Rooter Service.
