Three Siding Features That Spice Up A Boring Exterior
Having a home exterior that is one color can feel like a blessing and a curse. On one hand, one shade makes it easy to match with lawn decor and other decorations. On the flip side, having one color of a home exterior can be boring. If you are ready to spice up the look of your home, you can make additions to your home's siding. Here are three siding features that will give a little kick to a currently boring home exterior.
Add a wood piece
One of the best additions that you can make to your home's siding is a wood panel piece. On the wood panel piece, you can add something functional, such as your house number or the name of your state. If you want a major splash of color, you can also have your wood side painted a color such as a pale pink or a natural forest green in order to provide a pop of color of the eye. Have the wood attached by a remodeling contractor to make sure that the heavy structure remains stable.
Set up a brick wall
If you have vinyl siding, adding a front exterior of brick will make the place pop plus it will give the home a more traditional look. Find a remodeling contractor and discuss adding brick to the front of your home. This will increase the curb appeal rapidly, and if it is a permanent addition it can increase the overall net worth of the home. Be sure to select a color scheme of red bricks or clay bricks to properly pull off the traditional look.
Add stone siding and pillars
If you want to upgrade the siding of your home but you do not have much space in the front, you can add a faux stone exterior. Stone and faux stone exteriors work well for a home with a small front face, as the stone is easier to place than brick and siding inside of a low amount of square footage. The faux stone can be attached to your current siding and remain. Be sure to select weatherproof materials so that the stones remain attached during bad weather patterns rolling through home. When selecting a stone exterior, be mindful that the stones do not make the front of the home look heavy due to being large in size. Go for a cottage in the woods look when selecting a stone front. If you have pillars or posts in the front of your home, make these stone as well in order to complete the cottage in the suburbs look.
